Moving my long runs to Sunday worked out, although the early morning exercise made for a tardy and tired Phil at service afterwards. I kept getting hungry near the end of my runs, so I knew it was gel time. I chose a few citrus-based flavours to try and ended up consuming two of them on my latest long run (both with caffeine and one with the texture of petroleum jelly but the taste of salted watermelon), propelling me to a stronger finish. I have a few more gels (and some jelly beans) to try, but early indications are good for literally “eating on the run”…
