My running program has shifted to pace running. Holding my marathon goal pace over at least two hours is proving difficult. Granted, I consistently run faster in race settings, but can adrenaline buy me the fifteen seconds per kilometre I need to finish a sub-four marathon? The unfamiliar race location and climate may also work against me. These uncertainties are dogging me as my August and weddings reach the half-way point. In spite of running since January, it’s becoming a real possibility that my first marathon will end up like my first half…
